Bauer Media Outdoor publishes 2025 ESG Report, highlighting progress across planet, people, communities and governance
Bauer Media Outdoor (BMO) has released its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, marking a year of strong progress following its integration into Bauer Media Group. The report outlines advances across environmental performance, people development, community impact, and governance, with the company reaffirming 'the BMO Way' - acting as both a Platform for Brands and a Platform for Good.
Supporting our planet
The report highlights major steps forward in reducing environmental impact, including a science‑based pathway to Carbon Net Zero and continued investment in renewable energy, energy‑efficient infrastructure, and lower carbon materials. Product innovation played a central role, with the new Milestone shelters and the Revive bus shelter refurbishment programme significantly cutting emissions while extending asset life. The business also expanded biodiversity‑supporting infrastructure, including Living Roofs in the UK and Sedum Tiles in the Netherlands, helping to enhance climate resilience in busy urban environments.
Supporting our people
Bauer Media Outdoor strengthened its focus on safety, wellbeing, and skills development throughout 2025. Operational teams benefited from consistent training and clear safety standards, while new wellbeing initiatives and Employee Assistance Programmes supported mental and physical health. The business also continued to invest in long‑term capability through leadership programmes, market‑specific learning opportunities, and an inclusive workplace culture, reflected in high engagement and inclusion scores.
Supporting our communities
The company’s community work remained a core pillar of its ESG approach, using its Out of Home advertising network to support charities, cultural partners, and public service messaging. Bauer Media Outdoor delivered social impact through community projects, employee volunteering efforts, and collaborations with organisations ranging from public health bodies to arts and education charities. These initiatives helped broaden access to culture, strengthen community resilience, and support vital causes across the UK and Europe.
Supporting strong governance
The report also reinforces the company’s commitment to ethical, transparent governance. With clear accountability structures and a robust risk‑management framework, Bauer Media Outdoor continued to strengthen compliance, supplier due diligence, and data ethics, preparing for evolving regulatory requirements such as the CSRD. Privacy‑by‑design and strong cybersecurity practices further supported responsible operations across all markets.
Looking ahead
President Outdoor and BMO UK CEO Justin Cochrane described 2025 as “a transformational year,” setting the foundation for continued responsible growth. As the business looks ahead, its focus remains on scaling sustainable innovation, deepening community value, and maintaining the highest standards of governance across its UK and European operations.
