As part of our longstanding partnership with Campaign for Better Transport, Bauer Media Outdoor's Partnerships & Creative Director, Lou Stubbings, was invited to speak on a high-profile panel hosted by CEO Ben Plowden at both the Liberal Democrat Party Conference in Brighton and the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool.

Lou Stubbings, Partnerships & Creative Director, speaks into a handheld microphone and gestures during a panel discussion, with audience members seated in the foreground.

The discussion, Moving Power: Integrated Transport and the Devolution Opportunity, explored how integrated transport networks can support economic growth, social mobility and more sustainable communities.

The discussions brought together leaders from urban and rural constituencies, combined authorities, local government and industry to explore how devolved powers can help deliver more integrated, accessible and passenger-focused transport networks.

A key theme across both events was the importance of partnership. While devolution creates opportunities for local decision-making, meaningful improvements for passengers depend on collaboration between Westminster, regional and local authorities, transport operators and the private sector.

Six people stand side by side, smiling at the camera at an indoor event, in front of an orange display about integrated transport. They wear a mix of suits and dresses, including a red tie, a rust-orange trouser suit and a blue blazer over a pale blue dress.

During the discussion, Lou drew on Bauer Media Outdoor's experience of working with 180+ local authorities, operating more than 22,000 bus shelters in the UK. She highlighted how high-quality, well-maintained public infrastructure supports better journeys, improves accessibility, boosts passenger confidence and strengthens communities.

A particular focus was the need to design transport systems around people. From bus shelters and accessibility improvements to network integration, these details directly shape the everyday passenger experience.

As momentum behind the Better Connected strategy continues to grow, there is increasing recognition that successful transport networks are defined not only by policy and services, but by the experiences of the people and places they serve.
